Project Progress (Fall 2025)
Our research is growing with the valuable input of 2SLGBTQ+ youth and community members across Grande Prairie.
What’s Been Happening:
Focus Groups: Two sessions completed — one with youth ages 14–17 and another with ages 18–24 — each offering fresh perspectives and ideas.
Interviews: 14 youth and young adults (ages 17–29) have shared their personal experiences through one-on-one conversations.
Art Submissions: Three creative pieces have been contributed, giving expressive and visual depth to participants’ stories.
Working Group: A team of nine community members reviewed early findings and helped shape the upcoming youth survey.
Now Underway:
Youth Survey: Open to 2SLGBTQ+ youth ages 13–29 living in Grande Prairie.
Service Provider Survey: For local professionals who work with or support 2SLGBTQ+ youth.
By combining insights from both youth and service providers, this project is building a clearer picture of the supports, challenges, and opportunities that matter most to 2SLGBTQ+ youth in our community.
If I could wave a magic wand and make a difference? I wish that people had the capacity or the willingness to take the chance to learn and recognize that we're all the same on the inside. We're all people and just because we look different or we live different doesn't mean it needs to be a dividing factor among us. I wish there was tolerance and acceptance.
